Construction:

All frames are built with a "blind spline". It is a groove in each of the top and bottom sections of the frame which contains a 1/4" luan wood strip to increase the percentage of glue area and to produce a quality interlocking joint. The inner section of the frame is then nailed repeatedly to each of the eight border pieces from the back. This gives the frame a very successful way of assembling and creating a strong, durable plate holder for display. The frames are sanded with a 500 grit sandpaper before the finish spray coats are applied. Walnut and cherry wood are selected to reveal no sap. All frames are produced to have a uniform and extremely "eye-pleasing" color. Each plate frame also comes with four soft pads which can be placed on the frame to protect your plate.
